It is through their wellness that issues of misbehavior are avoided. The first thing I will do from now on is to be more observant of the classroom environment and then start implementing different techniques such as varying my position and also using different seating arrangements for different activities.
The things I learned from module 1 are the following: First, the tremendous influence of class management on the learning environment. Teacher should focus on flexible seating arrangements to avoid chaos to accommodate different activities and maintain students interest. I’ll try to apply the principles of optimal classroom management and focus more on refining strategies for organizing classroom routines for a better learning environment.
Thank you Dr for providing wonderful learning experience. Q1: I have learned numerous strategies, creative and innovative teachings techniques. In my opinion a balanced approach by focusing on both dimensions; energy and best thinking rather creative thinking is important to teaching as well as learning. Student involvement and engagement is the key for optimum learning. I have learned may new ways regarding classroom management by looking at both aspects tangible as well as intangible (behavioral) and from both perspectives, teacher, and learners. The most interesting and useful strategy is to use multiple classroom seating arrangements, teachers’ location and engaging & empowering students to foster best learning practices and imparting knowledge.
Q2: In future, I will actively follow the new classroom settings, for my small classes I will experiment with Zones, Islands, Reverse and diagonal. For special tasks, boardroom, Rotating Stations, task stations and Mingling will be interesting. Although I am utilizing many arrangements already, but these new creative arrangements I will like to experiment. I like using vertical divisions and Quadrants while teaching through white board but now I will use “Sections” approach to foster the actively learning and understanding for my students. Another important element highlighted in the course is the various teacher positions and art of standing while writing. Indeed all these factors will greatly enhanced the class room teaching quality.

1-I learned to foster positive relationships with your students. Need to get to know them individually, show genuine interest in their lives, and be approachable. Also, building rapport creates a supportive learning environment where students are more likely to cooperate and respect the rules. Maintain open lines of communication with students. I have learned many useful strategies and techniques to work with my students, manage my classroom activities efficiently and effectively from Module 1.
1. From module 1, I have learned that classroom management is beyond discipline and order in the classroom, but evolves around the arrangement of the classroom, which includes sitting positioning and learners, teacher positioning and use of the whiteboard. 2. Henceforth, I will arrange my classroom according to the activity I have for each subject and topic. I will also adapt the teacher positioning I have learnt from the course, and also create a classroom that will flourish with ideas for my learners.
This module helped me about not being authoritative as a teacher but use different technique to have a control over the class.
Secondly strategies for managing early finishers are great deal to deal with different level of students. I am very eager to apply these during the classes.
Some of the classroom division strategies seems to be really beneficial.
The idea of combining SMART goals with Blooms taxonomy is a great way to combine two theories and also it will guide me as a teacher the level of understanding of a lesson. It will help me to be more accurate with my teaching strategies and to add more methods to my practice.
This module have helped me in understanding various seating arrangements for activities and also the utilization of board during the lecture. And also how to tackle the issue of early finishers. I will add this to my lesson plans and design activities with the correct sitting plan.
1-Classroom organization can facilitate effective interaction between teachers and students.Also for the students increase focus and reduce distractions and playing or talking with others. 1.As an English teacher in a foreign country where English is a second language I would like to say that all the students should learn from each other as well as the teacher. I will definitely use all of the lessons and resources to help me learn and improve myself to become a better teacher. I will try the different methods for teaching and seating assignments to help the students learn better and keep them motivated and productive in the classroom.

As we will enter a new academic school year, I'll prioritize establishing a classroom environment that fosters safety, engagement, and a sense of belonging, ensuring students are eager and prepared for learning.
1-The thing that caught my attention is that I can sit during my lessons. I stand even if I have two lessons because I think if I sit down, I can't manage my students. 2- I will put the class rules again and ask my students to share me their thoughts. I will try to change the way of sitting of the students according to the activities.

The most important things I am going to consider to improve learning opportunities for my learners over the next several months and creating a more dynamic and interesting classroom atmosphere are: • Make an effort to actively vary the ways that classrooms are set up for various tasks so that pupils are not bored. • Depending on the kind of activity, I am going to set up different seating arrangements.

I have realised that classroom management is one of the tasks that we as educators take for granted in our day to day teaching, sometimes certain discipline challenges get out of hand because of poor classroom management on the part of the teacher. This becomes important especially for those educators in high school because we are always moving from one class to another unlike our counterparts in the primary section who tend to have fixed classes. It is important for the educator to lay down the rules from the beginning and input of the students should be considered . It is important to know your context first before you implement your rules and be consistent in your management of the classroom. I believe one way of doing it is through establishing relationships with your students, once there is that bond it will minimises discipline issues.

Answer: In this module, I have learned that classroom management goes beyond with disciplining the students and imposing rules solely by the teachers. It is more on managing the classroom with the collaboration of the students. Classroom management is as important as the core lessons discussed by the teachers. It is a bridge that helps students learn- having comfortable seats, good atmosphere and etc.

Answer: To implement this over the next few months, I will check the classroom thoroughly and check if the seats are comfortable for the students. Ans: In Module 1, I learned that classroom management involves many factors, like how the room is set up and where the teacher stands. The most important lesson I took away from module 1 was the necessity of changing the teaching and learning process to be more student-centered and to abandon the traditional role of the instructor. These days' students are not passive; rather, they are active learners who must be taught to take part in their education and accept accountability for their choices.

In the first module, I learned that the focus of attention of the teachers should be student-centred. Some varied measures and strategies are effective for inclusive instruction but to me giving ownership and productive feedback are the most handy among them. Incorporating a conducive environment where the students can ask questions, and interact with peers and instructors along with the complement when they do something worthwhile also maximises imprints as far as effective and inclusive learning is concerned.

Another great is encouraging teachers to sit down and discussing the many benefits it has on both students and the teacher. This Module has opened my thinking to new aspects and strategies that would help my class develop its sense of inclusivity and comfort, As a Music teacher it is very important to make sure all students are engaged and comfortable keeping in mind that music is not for everyone and having very different ranges of interest. The main points that have intrigued my thinking are : 1- Giving students agency and voice in creating classroom agreements as it encourages and helps them feel involved and appreciated which will also encourage them to follow the agreements and enhance the environment and the atmosphere of the class. 2- Room layout and set up, to me, movement is a crucial part of my classes and I must make sure students are moving safely around class, making sure the class has sufficient moving space for the kids to be creative and also having different corners for activities and enough space for a quiet corner. for the rest of the school year, I will implement a few of the strategies I've read about in this module such as selective moving to prevent noise while arranging the class, I will also focus more on board mapping to ensure students are aware and excited about the activities of the class and to have clear expectations of our roles and duties.

In the next few months, I will attempt to practice most of the strategies and techniques I learned in this module. For example, I will change the classroom seating arrangement, to maintain students' interest. While doing this I will consider the new arrangement matches the specific activities. I will do my best to achieve orderly room management. I will change my standing positions. I will make sure the classroom's physical environment is optimized to suit my students. I've discovered how crucial it is to plan a classroom that maximizes student engagement and learning by considering several factors, one of which is making sure the board is accessible to every student and is utilized effectively to highlight the key ideas. Furthermore, seating arrangements should encourage cooperation, communication, and convenient access for the students and lecturer. Additionally, creating a suitable classroom atmosphere facilitates the use of various teaching methods and educational activities. In addition, maintaining a balance between the physical aspects to create a cozy and joyful learning atmosphere.
Out of everything that has been discussed, the most important thing is providing a balanced physical environment to allow students to gain knowledge in a comfortable way. To prevent boredom, it's also essential to vary the teaching methods and tasks that are assigned to the students.
2. How are you going to practice/implement this learning over the next few month?
First it is very important to consider creating an effective and dynamic learning environment that supports students’ success and wellbeing. Over the next few months, to start, I’ll evaluate how classrooms are currently set up and find areas that need improvement. I’ll experiment with different seating arrangements to foster cooperative learning and guarantee that all students can see the course content clearly. I’ll be able to effectively modify these techniques and eventually create a more engaging classroom by reflecting of these changes and asking students for their feedback.
1- I’ve come to understand that the learning process should be more student-centered, and several key factors contribute to achieving this goal. These include the layout of the classroom, the overall classroom environment, and the relationship between the teacher and students. The is an amazing module provided us with a thorough understanding of effective techniques for managing diverse classroom environments. Your insights into classroom environment, establishing clear expectations, and fostering a positive classroom culture were particularly impactful specifically the part of Furnitures arrangement and classroom layout for different activities, which can be easily implemented by us as an educator for the next few months and future practice. The perfect part that this module not only equipped us with practical tools and actionable strategies but also inspired us to approach classroom management with renewed enthusiasm and confidence and explained about teacher positions in class and poster in using boards. The examples and real-world scenarios inspired us, allowing us to directly apply what we learned in our own teaching practices.

2. This course has given me an insight into classroom management, and practicle steps and solutions to be implemeneted. Over the next few months, I could practice these strategies by consistently applying them, engaging in regular reflections on my teaching practices, and actively seeking feedback from students to adjust the methods accordingly.
I learned from Module 1 the difference between teaching approaches and classroom layouts. I like how I chose the best classroom layouts depending on the types of activities and how that will reflect their engagement in the classroom.
I will implement student-led activities because they are the best way to enhance student engagement. I will ask the students for their opinions regarding changing the classroom layouts, and we will discuss the best way to implement it. I like task station approaches and can implement them in my courses. Moreover, I will use the whiteboard to enhance engagement. The most important thing is to create a friendly classroom environment to engage the discussion.

In my opinion a balanced approach by focusing on both dimensions; energy and best thinking rather creative thinking is important to teaching as well as learning. Student involvement and engagement is the key for optimum learning. I have learned may new ways regarding classroom management by looking at both aspects tangible as well as intangible (behavioral) and from both perspectives, teacher, and learners. Q2: In future, I will actively follow the new classroom settings, for my small classes I will experiment with Zones, Islands, Reverse and diagonal. I like using vertical divisions and Quadrants while teaching through white board but now I will use “Sections” approach to foster the actively learning and understanding for my students. DeleteI have realised that classroom management is one of the tasks that we as educators take for granted in our day to day teaching, sometimes certain discipline challenges get out of hand because of poor classroom management on the part of the teacher. This becomes important especially for those educators in high school because we are always moving from one class to another unlike our counterparts in the primary section who tend to have fixed classes. It is important for the educator to lay down the rules from the beginning and input of the students should be considered . It is important to know your context first before you implement your rules and be consistent in your management of the classroom. I believe one way of doing it is through establishing relationships with your students, once there is that bond it will minimises discipline issues.

Teacher should focus on flexible seating arrangements to avoid chaos to accommodate different activities and maintain students interest. This helps creating an ideal learning environment together with providing comfortable atmosphere making students engaged in decisions making, collaboration and positive communication guided by democratic transparent rules.
I am going to implement this learning over the next months by using different seating arrangements accordingly with the types of activities to be done and also involving students in taking decisions on classroom management and to be more responsive to their interactions.
I like to switch between authoritative, facilitative, and supportive positions in the classroom. These varying positions definitely help to create a balanced and effective approach to teaching and learning.

2.I have learnt a lot of strategies throughout my career and this course added a lot to me honestly. Appropriate and suitable seating plans are going to be my future strategies and I am going to let students interact more with each others as well.

ReplyDeleteThe most important lesson I took away from module 1 was the necessity of changing the teaching and learning process to be more student-centered and to abandon the traditional role of the instructor. It is required of students to participate actively and to voice their opinions on all they do in the classroom. These days' students are not passive; rather, they are active learners who must be taught to take part in their education and accept accountability for their choices.

Depending on the sort of activity, I will rearrange the seating. For instance, in a reading class, there will be seats in the shape of a separate corner, whereas in a debating session, there may be seats in the shape of a parliament, and so forth. The seating arrangement will vary depending on each learning objective. In addition, I'll let my students choose what's best for them.
I agree with the view that students should be involved in classroom management, however, I think that Teachers should be guiding students when making decisions. Students tend to make decisions that are not well thought out; thus teachers should guide them to make well-informed decisions.

Some varied measures and strategies are effective for inclusive instruction but to me giving ownership and productive feedback are the most handy among them. Incorporating a conducive environment where the students can ask questions, and interact with peers and instructors along with the complement when they do something worthwhile also maximises imprints as far as effective and inclusive learning is concerned.

Another great is encouraging teachers to sit down and discussing the many benefits it has on both students and the teacher. I have managers, especially recently, criticizing teachers for being seated.
When I did my TEd., they encouraged us to sit especially when telling a story, or taking up the answers for an exercise, or giving control back to the students to build trust and independence.

DeleteThis Module has opened my thinking to new aspects and strategies that would help my class develop its sense of inclusivity and comfort, As a Music teacher it is very important to make sure all students are engaged and comfortable keeping in mind that music is not for everyone and having very different ranges of interest.

1- Giving students agency and voice in creating classroom agreements as it encourages and helps them feel involved and appreciated which will also encourage them to follow the agreements and enhance the environment and the atmosphere of the class.
2- Room layout and set up, to me, movement is a crucial part of my classes and I must make sure students are moving safely around class, making sure the class has sufficient moving space for the kids to be creative and also having different corners for activities and enough space for a quiet corner.
for the rest of the school year, I will implement a few of the strategies I've read about in this module such as selective moving to prevent noise while arranging the class, I will also focus more on board mapping to ensure students are aware and excited about the activities of the class and to have clear expectations of our roles and duties.

The main thing I learned in Module 1 was effective use of the white board. AS mentioned in the video it is a valuable resource- a dynamic tool to deliver information with clarity and impact. I will try out the different methods suggested in the video like dividing the board into segments and using highlighters and different colors. One more thing, I would like to implement is the different seating arrangement suggested in the video to optimize learning, to break boredom and monotony.

Classroom management is about the overall learning environment and experience. Student arrangement, teacher placement, and roles and expectation of the teacher and students are all worthy of our attention and thinking when designing the learning environment.

ReplyDeleteI would like to practice, what I learnt in this module, by asking students how they would like to organize the classroom, I can tap into their preferences and create a learning space that feels comfortable and inclusive for my students. By doing this way I can enhance motivation and engagement, as students feel their voices are heard and valued. Most probably, I will initiate this task by the start of the next academic year 2024-25.

These days' students are not passive; rather, they are active learners who must be taught to take part in their education and accept accountability for their choices.

Depending on the sort of activity, I will rearrange the seating. Honestly I am using some of these teaching techniques, such as changing rules and work on group and keep moving into different position while explain the materials. Of course I will try to practice the new techniques I have learned.
I learned how important it is to set up the physical space in a classroom to make it easier for students to learn, things like using the board well, arranging seats in a smart way, and organizing the classroom layout thoughtfully. also making sure the lighting and temperature are just right. All of these things help create a space where students can learn better and stay engaged.

ReplyDeleteThe main takeaway from this module emphasized moving away from trying to exert control over students towards prioritizing the creation of a positive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that supports their welfare. This shift is essential as it directly aids in reducing disruptive conduct. It was intriguing to discover that even minor changes, like where I stand in the classroom or the layout of desks and chairs, can greatly improve student involvement and active participation in educational tasks.

I am going to try different approaches that I learned here and check which one suits us the best. Of course, I will consider the students' feedback into consideration.
1. It has been an interesting and engaging module as well. As an Early Years Educator, I understand the importance of a well aerated and aesthetic classroom which keeps the learners enthusiastic all day long. The regular change of the classroom arrangements to suit class activities will keep the learners anxious as they are unaware of what comes next. Also, the need for inclusion as no child should feel left behind or abandoned as this will truncate the learning process.

It is through their wellness that issues of misbehavior are avoided. Aspects such as teacher position and room rearrangement play a crucial role in enriching instruction and keeping students engaged .

The first thing I will do from now on is to be more observant of the classroom environment and then start implementing different techniques such as varying my position and also using different seating arrangements for different activities.

ReplyDelete1. I learned a lot from this module. As a budding teacher, I feel this module covers all the essential topics that might have been overlooked by some. I learned how essential classroom arrangement and organization is especially in relation to the effectiveness of the lesson. students and lecturer. Additionally, creating a suitable classroom atmosphere facilitates the use of various teaching methods and educational activities. In addition, maintaining a balance between the physical aspects to create a cozy and joyful learning atmosphere.
Out of everything that has been discussed, the most important thing is providing a balanced physical environment to allow students to gain knowledge in a comfortable way. To prevent boredom, it's also essential to vary the teaching methods and tasks that are assigned to the students.
